We had the good fortune of connecting with Jules and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jules, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I’ve had a lot more good days than bad days since I began my entrepreneurial pursuit, and I feel excited to start every day knowing it’s mine for the taking.

Everyone has different goals when they start their businesses, and mine has always been to find a way to feel that excitement about my work which propels me forward.

It’s a difficult dance because a lot of entrepreneurship is giving a lot without getting much in return, but as long as you want to keep giving, give it! I think you “know” when you no longer have anything left to give your business and the energy isn’t there anymore.

What should our readers know about your business?
Deco Miami is my little nail brand that has pivoted to focus on nail art stickers since launching them in fall of 2020. I’ve always loved charms and mini trinkets, and design my stickers to be an extension of these little delights. I do all of the artwork myself in-house, and it’s been so fun to dream up new designs for my own brand, and also for other brands via collabs! The first few years of business were a lot of “making deals” and purchase orders, and it’s been a fun and exciting chapter to watch the business take on a life of its own as a brand that people love and support.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spot to grab a meal, any time of the day, is Bodega Taqueria on South Beach! I could eat their tacos every day. I also had a blast at MILA and the food was top notch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m inspired by both of my grandfathers who never got to see my business, but taught me everything I know about grit and resilience. They were both immigrants from very different parts of the world, yet were equally curious and driven to create amazing lives for their families and I wouldn’t be here today if not for their hard work and dedication.
