We had the good fortune of connecting with Ricardo Alberty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ricardo, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Honesty! Working hard to make sure that we give the best possible experience to our customers. If you make the customer feel like part of the company or the family, that customer will be loyal to you and your brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have learned that you have to work hard to achieve success. Nothing is really easy in life unless you are born into a family that hands everything to you and I really never wanted that. The most important things to me are that you must be able to adapt and learn whatever your task or job is. The best way to learn it, is do it or read up on how to get it done. I have been a Senior Manager in United Parcel Service where I learned how to Manage and Manage people. You have to be firm but fair.
In my life I was also in charge of running an Iron Ore mine in the country of Chile, where I had no knowledge of but I learned. If you know how to treat people the right way, you will always gain their respect. I am a people person, I will treat you right and respect you, but I expect the same in return. I am very good at reading people. COMMON SENSE is 95% of managing anything you do in life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Unfortunately many times we take our surroundings for granted and we don’t even take advantage of the beauty of the location where you live. I live in South Florida so the first thing I would do is take my friend to the Beach. Let them take in the beauty of our beaches and islands that surround us. Miami is a melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities so there is a plethora of locations to eat great food from all over the world, experience different restaurants, clubs and lifestyles. I would make sure to take them to Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana, a staple in Miami for great food and a center point for Political interaction. Even Presidents have visited Versailles when they are in Miami.
Nightlife is everywhere in South Florida, you can go the famous South Beach area, Wynwood and get crazy or just hang out or go up north to Fort Lauderdale and enjoy a lifestyle with different twist.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents to start. They showed me that it takes courage to leave everything behind in the country that they were born in; including some of their family; to work hard and make a better life for them and their kids.
I also have to give much credit to UPS (United Parcel Service) where I spent 20 years of my career and learned so much discipline and management techniques. Their training and methods were second to none.
