Meet Jayna Thomas | The Marketing Queen

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayna Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jayna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Initially, I thought it would be difficult but easy because I had already been in corporate for a decade and I am very good at what I do.
That’s when I learned entrepreneurship is more about your mentality than it is skill.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business with clients I made from corporate connects. Networking is so important to success.
For me, getting customers wasn’t my biggest challenge. It was scaling the business. I was working non-stop on client accounts and stressing myself for less than I made in corporate. I didn’t feel free at all. I was borderline burnt out.
Instead on giving up, I recharged and realized I was working hard but not smart. It’s been a mental game every since.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so many great things to do in Miami. I love visitors. Depending on your vibe, there is something for everyone.
Some of my favorite places are Wynwood and Brickell. I love water sports. I would recommend tubing if you tried jet skis. Also, can’t go wrong with a boating activity. We even have bubble soccer and tons of cool sights to see.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I always thank my Dad for making me intelligent, my mom for making me kind and my step-mom for making me strong. I never had much support with my business. But thankfully, I had support growing up so it enabled me to be able to do things on my own.
I’d also like to acknowledge my past employers who taught me what to do and what not to do to grow a multimillion dollar brand. Thanks!
