We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose a creative career because music was really the only thing I felt a true connection to. The thought of doing anything that isn’t creative doesn’t feel like me and hasn’t even been considered as an option. I love creating whether it’s with my music or making something with my hands. It’s what i fell in love with!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think one of the main things that helped me get where I am is fully being myself. When I’m writing music, I don’t want to put my creativity in a box. I write whatever I’m feeling in the moment, even if it doesn’t sound similar to what I’ve written before. Creativity is unlimited and endless and that what i like to remember if I’m ever feeling frustrated and stuck when trying to write. Another big lesson i learned is being consistent. Consistency is extremely important when trying to build an audience and a brand, and that’s what i try to focus on every day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest supporter is definitely my mom. She’s been there with me in my career before I even knew music would be my career. So thank you mom!

I’d also like to acknowledge my friends in the West Palm Beach music community. The other musicians in the area support each other so much and I’ve never felt so welcomed and loved. So much talent in one place, it’s amazing!
