We had the good fortune of connecting with Derrick Moore and Arnold Moore Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Derrick and Arnold, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well initially starting the business was simply us wanting to own something that we could control and grow. But it turned into trying to provide quality service to local people and businesses and providing a level of detail we really didn’t see in the industry.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The business is Florida State Trappers, we are a wildlife maintence and removal company. We deal with everything from raccoons to foxes and even snakes. However we specialize in rodent removal. We have a 5 start rating on Google and we take pride and trying to maintain it.

We believe what sets us apart from other companies honestly is that we are willing to get down and dirty to get the job done. customer satisfaction is everything. We’ve taken several drives that other companies turn down simply because it required an extra step or was something that they weren’t familiar with. We use social media and other resources to make sure that we stay on top of the lastest industry trends to make sure they we are able to provide the best service possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, obviously, we love the outdoors so we will definitely take them fishing and get them real up close and personal with some wildlife, gators, snakes etc.

There’s a couple food places we would definitely make sure we hit before they go; Gold Soul And Dem Boyz BBQ both food trucks in Broward. Naomi’s Garden in Miami, And Dixie Fried Chicken in Belle Glade

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Considering this is a business owned by 2 brothers, the people we would have to give credit to would probably be our parents. They instilled in us from our younger age to always work together and work for what you want. Both of our parents had their own respective business so entrepreneurship was nothing new to us.
