We had the good fortune of connecting with Luciana Ravazzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luciana, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Being from a very urban and metropolitan area, I had an enriching and lively childhood by enjoying all that the big and dynamic city would offer culturally. Also, when on my school vacations, I had the opportunity to experience the country side, which allowed me to live and enjoy a completely different environment. I believe that those experiences have molded my personality by making me more open, adaptable and ready to face the challenges that life would bring to me. It was absolutely worth it.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a General Dentist with years of practice in Brazil and in the US where I currently work as a full time Associate at Sharp Dentistry in Coconut Grove, FL. It as an arduous journey in order to pursue my dental license in the US. I had to go back to dental school after almost a decade of practice in my native country, Brazil. What I love about my profession is that I am able to help my patients to achieve their best smiles either by cosmetic , aesthetic dentistry, oral rehabilitation, Invisalign , teeth whitening and so on. It is very fulfilling being able to have these varieties of treatments performed from children to adults and by taking care of them throughout the years. If you do what you love you will never have to work a day in your life. .
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When we have friends visiting Miami, we always take them for a stroll at Wynwood, Lincoln Road, Calle Ocho for fun and drinks. In Wynwood besides visiting Wynwood walls, we always grab a bite at Bakan restaurant. It is a Mexican restaurant with delicious tacos and micheladas. LIncoln Road for a stroll and we always have a coffee at Nespresso or Laduree for macarons while shopping around. Calle Ocho, a go to the Ball and Chain bar is a must. They mojitos and empanadas are divine. A visit to Perez Museum is always a good idea. They have very interesting exhibitions including great artists from South America. A visit to Ocean Drive to appreciate Art Deco architecture, South Point for a beautiful sunset view. Brickell City Centre is also a great place to visit and shop. Their modern and spacious architecture is worthy seeing. Another great place to visit is Design District with its high-end couture stores. In December, Miami is full of art with Art Basel and Satelite exhibitions. Art galleries, investors, visitors from all over the world gather in for a week of art and fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It is always about team work. We can’t succeed in life without other people’s help. I was fortunate enough in having my father as my colleague, inspiration and first mentor while I practiced dentistry in Brazil. When I moved to the US, I met Dr. Bruno Sharp who became my second mentor and friend. My husband, our wonderful families and close friends have always been motivation to pursue my dreams and achieve my goals.
