We had the good fortune of connecting with Mauricio Carrasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mauricio, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Don’t wait for anything. If you want it you go and take it yourself, no matter the time, cost, anything. If you REALLY want it you will make it happen.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started freelance videography only because everybody around me pushed me to do so. They saw that I had a passion for it and was naturally good at it with no prior experience. I thank them for it because I would never take it back. I believe what sets me apart from others is my attention to detail. From what I am capturing on camera, to what happens in every frame while I’m editing, it needs to be perfect, If it isn’t it is no good. Because of this I have gotten the opportunity to work with some pretty incredible people and organizations. I would say working with WNBA players like Erica Wheeler, Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, and Sylvia Fowles was one of the moments where I knew I had a place in this business and I was here to stay. I’ve been extremely fortunate to never look for jobs, they are always coming to me and that is something I never take for granted. I started this business because it was something I loved and I incorporate a lot of the things I am influenced by in my craft. I want to share all the things I like with the world so that others can see why they are so great. Things like fashion, anime, music are things I like to show off in my work. But, I do not want to just limit it to just my videos. For example, I don’t just want to stop at freelance work. I want to create an brand, kind of like Lyrical Lemonade. Not be known just as a videographer.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I am going to give the most BASIC answer, only because it is the ONLY answer. For a good time, you have to check out the night life in Miami. Yes or yes, that is not up for debate. Definitely would hit up all the major spots in Wynwood and Downtown Miami. Sunday, we are going to El Patio 100%. As for food, the top 3 places I would take my friend to would be Flanigan’s , Tiago’s Tacos, and La Mar, always have to thrown in the Peruvian food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I would have to thank anyone, it would have to be all my friends and loved ones. Their patience with me throughout this whole journey is the reason I am where I am today. If they didn’t understand why I stopped them every 3-5 minutes because “this is the perfect shot”, I would have felt the my passion was more of a burden to everyone else.
