We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Abelto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Did you ever think you were destined for something special? Would you love to compete for an Oscar? Well for me it was pursuing a career as a creative. I have always been attracted to the arts. As a child I would always use my imagination and bring them to life. For instance I would pretend that I was Indiana Jones and had to save the world from E.T. I would act out all the different scenarios and make up different endings. That in turn is what drew me to becoming an actor. As an actor I had such a creative imagination, it helped me become better at my craft because I was able to become the character of whomever I was playing. One instance was in the Amazon movie “I Before Thee”, I had to channel my inner self to play a character that was depressed because of his torrid past. This then led me to become director. As a director, I was able to use all of my experiences to further my career. Through those experiences our company Able 2 Film Entertainment brought out The Power of Movement which was in the running for best documentary at the 94th Academy Awards. Being a creative is something that is just in you. You have to find a way to express it. I believe that your imagination is a powerful trait so don’t waste it.
What should our readers know about your business?
Able 2 Film Entertainment, Inc. formerly known as Able2Film Productions is an independent motion picture studio based out of Los Angeles, CA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, and New York City, NY. Able 2 Film was founded in 2013. Together, we bring the start of a long-term, successful experience in the motion picture industry with a focus on creating movies and TV series. What sets us apart from others is our attention to detail in the creative dimension. My co-founder Rajesh D. Felix and Sarah E. Felix synergistically allocate resources where they fit best which for whatever reason, is not a common theme with a majority of our competitors. We understand that film is a team effort and we place our team as an equal priority to our passion for making legendary content. Able 2 Film’s proudest moment thus far has to be the fact that “The Power of Movement” was one of the films up for an Oscar in the 2021 award season. The fact that we competed against companies like Netflix, HBO, and Sony gave us a new perspective on how high the bar has been raised for us. Able 2 Film takes every experience and learns from it. The challenges we have faced stem from being an independent studio competing on a global level against well known companies. Those types of challenges are hard to overcome, but we prevailed by keeping true to our nature. The lessons that were learned along the way had to do with being prepared. Able 2 Film took preparation to another level in order to set us apart from the rest. This is something that the bigger film companies use in their processes. Able 2 Film wants to teach and showcase that succeeding in this field is something that is achievable by sacrifice and determination.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to say the Design District in Miami is a great place I go just to kick back and hangout. Another great place to visit Wynwood for inspiration and don’t forget Brickell with its great restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my co-founder from Able 2 Film Entertainment Rajesh D. Felix and Sarah E. Felix are the two individuals that deserve credit in my story. The two of them have always supported me in every endeavor that I have ever embarked on. I am thankful that they continue to inspire me to achieve success and growth.
