We had the good fortune of connecting with Akhalia Fearon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Akhalia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is genuine love and passion for content creating. On days when it gets hard it’s my love for content creating that fuels me to finding ways to improve on my skills and to learn other skills necessary to climb the ladder of success.
What should our readers know about your business?
This brand was established February 2021 as a creative and educational outlet to teach black woman with kinky coils hair simple and easy steps to hair care. I aim to create a space of confidence and empowerment for dark skinned women with textured hair and to increase the representation of coarse kinky hair in every sector I find myself in. One of my biggest challenges was stepping outside of my zone and being comfortable sharing who I am to the world, especially since I struggle with social anxiety. This is something I am still working on, however consistency and doing it even when I was afraid had brought me to where I am today.
Throughout my journey I have learned to be myself, set boundaries and the right people will love me for it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ochio Rios Jamaica Would most definitely be spot to take my friends. Ochio Rios is home to waterfalls, beautiful beaches and veiws and most importantly great Jamaican food.
For the day we’d visit chukka island village outpost or duns river falls for adventure and fun activities. For late night activities we could visit margaritasville, spend time at the beach, eat burgers pizzas and enjoy Raggae music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
first i would like to thank God, nothing would be possible without him, secondly i would like to thank my partner, thank you for all you invested and all your encouraging words. Lastly I would like to thank all my friends and family who supported me, thank you for your unending love and prayers.
