We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Winter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I love discovering new things in my life. The unknown always carries a certain degree of risk, and for me, that’s completely natural. Risk is also about making choices. Of course, I assess potential threats as much as possible and avoid acting recklessly — that wouldn’t be risk, that would be foolishness. But it’s simply impossible to predict everything in advance.

For me, risk is a conscious decision made with the understanding that my expectations might not be met — and I’m fine with that. If it works out, great. If it doesn’t, I gain experience and learn a lesson. That’s why I take risks calmly, and statistically, I end up with far more wins than disappointments.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In short, I’ve recently turned a brand-new page in my life, starting completely from scratch — this time as a 40-year-old online entrepreneur and UGC creator.

Why? The reason is simple. I’m a refugee from Ukraine who, because of the war, lost everything: my family, my home, my business. I immigrated to the EU to rebuild my life. In Ukraine, I had a successful career as a top manager at a large food production company, later founding my own digital marketing agency that thrived for over eight years, as well as a construction company building private homes near Kyiv. But as I said, war came to our doorstep, and in a single day, it was all gone.

At first, like any human being, I was devastated. But over time, I began to see life from a different perspective — as a chance to start fresh, not within the borders of my home country, but on a truly global stage.

A few months ago, I decided to step into the world of media and content creation, collaborating with brands in Western Europe and the United States. While I haven’t yet achieved massive results in this new chapter, I have something equally important — faith in what I’m building and an overwhelming excitement for the work itself.

I used to be a more “analog” kind of entrepreneur, but now I have the opportunity to reinvent myself online, to connect with audiences across countries, cultures, and communities. It’s exhilarating. It gives me the energy to keep moving forward, to create, and to deliver something meaningful to a much wider audience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re asking about Miami — I don’t live there yet. I currently work with part of my audience that is based in Miami. At the moment, I live in Vienna, the capital of Austria, but I plan to move to Miami in the near future.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would especially like to highlight the book Mind Power Into the 21st Century by John Kehoe, which has had a profound impact on my outlook on life and business. In fact, I believe this book should be included as mandatory reading in the school curriculum
