We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Bittan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work-life balance changes daily. Every day is different, and life happens while your business is happening, too. What works for me (at least for now) is taking it one day at a time, and creating a routine where I try to fit a few “uninterrupted” work hours. Most game-changing decision to manage work-life balance: Delegating. It isn’t easy, but if you put together the right team, it really is the only way to grow your business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would have never thought that the creative side of the business would become my passion. As a psychology graduate, with Masters in Business, the idea of content creation never even occurred to me. Now, creating content, initiating collaborations, putting together looks, being part of the set design, coordinating and managing photoshoots, and showing it all on a daily basis through social media in the most creative way I can think of, is what I truly enjoy most. Was it easy? No. We grew our social media platform one follower at a time, and slowly, we became a tight knit bikini-loving community. Most important thing for me about our brand is being able to communicate that we don’t just “sell swimwear.” We’re a lifestyle brand, we’re an experience. We want you to keep coming in, engaging with us by stopping by our stores for wine, or pop-corn, or coffee or by starting a conversation via Instagram. That’s really what we’re all about!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop would be the Alchemist for a rustic-chic breakfast (best coffee & avo toast ever). After that, a 2-min drive to Cristalina Swimwear Aventura for a bikini shopping spree before a full beach day. Best way to end the day would be Mediterranean dinner at Mandolin Aegean Bistro. Some of my all-time favorite spots: To eat: Lettuce and Tomato Carpaccio Kyu Il Mercato Sugarcane To hang out/Grab a drink: Soho Beach House Broken Shaker Lagniappe

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lots of people made Cristalina possible since day one, and have been a huge part of this journey. Shoutout to my business partner, who has worked long days and even longer nights to make sure our in-store experience is just like we want it to be. Shout out to my hubby, who is the biggest supporter of what I do and encourages me to continue growing daily. He’s the one behind one of the most important decisions in our social media growth: Humanizing our account. And last, but not least, a huge shout out to the local fashion and lifestyle bloggers who have shared the Cristalina Swimwear experience with their audience, and have become way more than brand ambassadors, they are family.
