We had the good fortune of connecting with Allan Souza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
6 months before Covid happened I had reached rock bottom with a meth addiction. My rock bottom was my break thought. I went to a Christian inpatient recovery center where I spent 8 months. During this time I was able to understand and heal from my past traumas which led me to drugs. Right when Covid hit I had left rehab with .25cents in my account and nowhere to live. I reached out to a friend who took me in and that’s when I began starting my own business. I knew that everything I went thru could be used for a bigger purpose. I knew I had the gift and now experience to help others overcome their addictions and traumas. I went online and got a coaching certificate. During this time I was also blessed to have my previous job back which helped me sustain this passion as a coaching business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being a life coach is so rewarding! I get to help people get their life back in order and help them achieve their goals. What sets me a part is that can relate more to me because I’ve been thru some things. I’ve overcome addiction, Obesity, depression, anxiety, fear and so much more. When you can relate to your customer they trust you more because you are living proof of what you have to offer. The challenge with what I do is marketing yourself and creating content constantly. I know that with this new generation Social media is how you get your name out there. Taking on a digital creator role I have to constantly think outside the box on how I can promote my current posts. The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far in my career as a coach and Digital creator is that this game is about consistency and patience. It’s truly believing in yourself and having faith that it will pay off one day. Every time I post, every time I promote my business I think of myself as a fisherman. When you go fishing you cast out your net hoping it will come back full and that is what I do. I pray and say “God I’m casting my net to fish one more time” and I trust and believe that this time might be the one that takes me to the next level. I’m still fairly new to all this but I don’t give up or lose hope!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the beach, South Point beach and park are my go to really soak in the Miami vibes.
I am training to do an Ironman and Key Biscayne is the go-to spot for swimming, biking and running.
Vous Church is a must! I go to a very vibrant and fun church the lights, the music, the people make it an experience every time I go.
Restaurant DC Pie Brickell is bomb! Best happy hour price and food you will find in that area!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a big shoutout to God, in my rock bottom he found me and transformed me into the man I am today! I realized that all my life I kept looking for something to fill this void in my heart and was never satisfied. The moment I gave my life to him I found what I’d been looking for all my life! My faith has been my anchor since my rock bottom. I have never felt so alive and fulfilled as I do now. the Bible for me is the book I live by and learn from on a daily base. The book of Proverbs has so much wisdom that anyone regardless of their faith can learn from.
