We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe’l Livingston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe’l, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Well i think way back about faras I can remember, when I use to get new clothes for Christmas, Birthdays, and beginning of the school years. I would take the old clothes that were in bad shape and I would cut them, put material paint on them, and use glue and patches and my love for wearing my own designs kick in. As I grew so did my creative mind, drive, relentless determination, and business as well. I own two businesses first is my Locs4Life salon, and my clothing brand. My balance has changed over time because my connection with GOD has gotten stronger there for i can be more organized to make products so I can sell clothing, run a salon do hair and I balance both businesses first thru my GOD who strengthens me and secondly with organization staying on time and scheduling out my day. I often think about the balance because if I didn’t have GOD I would not be able to be organized to run these businesses.

I’m a master loctiction I do dreads for a living. I think what sets me apart from others is my high frequency of customer service and a consistent goal of making my clients more confident and very happy with my service with me. What I’m most proud and excited about is the fact that I have been blessed with the talent to perform the miracles I do. I got where I am today thru GOD first then the will and determination to perform my talents. For any great goal or dream there will be many challenges and hurdles it’s up to you whether you let it break you or let it give you fuel. I learned if you don’t have GOD and the willingness to do what needs to be done then you will parish very quickly.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay my view of a fun week trip would be the first day we would catch up over drinks and food maybe a nice restaurant in Virginia.the next day I would take her/him to some Museums to get some information about the dmv. The next day would be a day on the road traveling from dc to Md and then Virginia. Just taking in the sites and beautiful landscape the fourth day we would go to a spa during the day and club at night. The final day it would be a beach day
