We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
There’s no such thing as failure or giving up, just redirection into the path you were meant to be on all along. It’s great to have a vision, but also be open to try something different if your plan doesn’t unfold exactly how you imagined, which often turns out better than you planned in the first place. The most important thing you can have is resilience and an unshakable belief in who you are and your impact in the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My writing is all about exploring the deeper emotions of the human psyche, the universal moments that people never talk about but everyone feels. I always want to explore and connect with others through my storytelling. If one person can see themselves or relate to what I’m writing about, then I’ve done my job!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My top three places in Miami that are always a great time are Books & Books, the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and Lulu in the Grove! A perfect day of exploring nature, checking out great literature and amazing food in the city.
