We had the good fortune of connecting with Amaranta Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amaranta, what do you attribute your success to?
I have to admit that there is nothing romantic about being successful. I always listen to successful people talk about inspiration and the journey, but for me is very far from that haha. It’s hard work, tears, discipline, and resilience. To be where I am right now, there have been more lows than highs. That’s why you have to enjoy to the fullest those few moments where you really feel you’ve achieved a goal. Be present, enjoy, and continue to live this path you’ve chosen.
The good thing is that with experience comes the knowledge that success is not a sprint or a straight line. So when you reach those peaks take many pictures!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been a very creative person. I am a multidisciplinary artist. My background is in animation and I did Motion Graphics for a long time when I was an Art Director for Nickelodeon, and since then I’ve applied that knowledge to the art I create today with augmented reality. Right now I’m on Web3 creating digital art and I’ve had the opportunity to exhibit my work worldwide. It’s been an amazing ride since I created my brand Superama to have the opportunity to create murals, illustrations, installations, and digital art. I’ve also worked with clients like United Airlines, Armani Exchange, Hugo BOSS, NFL, Johnnie Walker, Miami Dolphins, Viacom, Paramount, Ally Bank, and Verizon.

What I’m more proud and excited about is that my art is landing on the moon! I’m 1 of the 222 artists that are part of the Lunaprise Museum, the first Museum that is going to be on the moon. Thanks to Bitbasel and Spaceblue my work will be exhibited not only on the moon but also in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC where there will be a replica of the Lunaprise disk. The rocket will launch from Cape Canaveral in January 2024.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Midtown and I’m Venezuelan so I would have to recommend La Latina where you can have delicious arepas and tequeños. Then you can walk to Wynwood to appreciate art and where you can find the most creative stores. After that long walk, you’ll probably be hot and thirsty so you can have a cold beer at BarTaco or a delicious ice cream at Paletas Morelia. Then you can end the night at Lagniappe listening to jazz and drinking fine wine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family. They have always been so supportive, especially my husband who lives with a very energetic and curious person who doesn’t stand still haha. My family has always been my cheerleaders they let me be who I am since the beginning of my creative journey.
