Hi ANA, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the key to Wicked Monkey’s success lies in a genuine and caring approach that goes beyond the typical business mindset. My entrepreneurial vision for Wicked Monkey extends beyond just pet fashion; it encompasses a broader commitment to social change within the pet community. This vision is rooted in a deep passion for animals and a sincere desire to make a positive impact on their lives.

Professionally, my focus is entirely dedicated to Wicked Monkey, where our mission transcends conventional pet fashion. Engaged in the creative process of crafting innovative pet accessories and strategizing ways to amplify our social impact, each task is fueled by an authentic passion for our cause.

For me, Wicked Monkey is about forging connections with a community of kindred spirits who not only appreciate our values but share in our vision for a better world for pets. Every moment spent contributing to Wicked Monkey is an opportunity to be part of something greater than ourselves. This profound sense of purpose is what keeps me wholeheartedly immersed in my professional journey, fostering enthusiasm and dedication in every pursuit.

Can you share a significant challenge you’ve faced, particularly in terms of financial burden when starting a business, and how you navigated through it?

Undoubtedly, a formidable challenge in my life was the financial burden I encountered while starting a business. It was a daunting task, akin to climbing a steep mountain. However, resilience became my guiding force, and giving up was never an option. I invested not only time and effort but also faced the financial challenge head-on, making strategic decisions to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, another major hurdle presented itself when I joined the US Navy with limited English proficiency. Understanding instructions and connecting with peers felt like scaling another mountain. Yet, this journey became a testament to perseverance, the power of teamwork, and the wisdom of seeking help when faced with adversity. Blessed with the support of amazing individuals, life’s dance of challenges has significantly contributed to my growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I’d kick off the week with a feast at Bourbon Steak Miami by Michael Mina, where even as a pescetarian, their tuna tartar and fries win me over every time. Mornings would begin with invigorating Barre classes, my fitness haven.

Days would be a mix of exploring Wynwood Walls, strolling down Ocean Drive, and taking in the vibrant culture of Little Havana. Evenings are reserved for the dance-filled adventure at Marion Miami. Throughout the week, we’d indulge in local flavors at spots like Joe’s Stone Crab..

Miami’s diverse experiences are a true treasure, and this condensed itinerary captures the essence of what I love most about this city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A heartfelt thank you to my mother, whose memory lives on in the lessons she taught me. Though she rests in peace, I feel her presence in the guidance she bestowed. I believe she’s watching from heaven, smiling at the person I’ve become. The US Navy has played an instrumental role in shaping my character, instilling in me discipline and the unwavering spirit to never give up.

Lastly, Big shout out to my family and friends! You are my number one fans, always standing by me with unwavering devotion—I appreciate your unwavering support. This journey wouldn’t be the same without each of you. Thank you for being the pillars of my life. 🌟💕
