We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Dennis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be remembered for the positive influence I had on others. Through direct education and mentorship I have the ability to impact people’s lives and be remembered as someone who helped people achieve their dreams.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Ibis Prep. We tutor for every subject under the sun! We also have a virtual summer Mentorship program and offer crash courses for numerous exams including the LSAT, Bar Exam, and Series 7. My journey to entrepreneurship lead me down every career path possible. I took the Florida Bar to become an attorney and the Series 7 and 66 to become a stock broker. Ultimately, I found that my heart was in education and owning my own business. It has been a very difficult journey. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that no singular thing works. What works is the combined effort of a million different things. When in doubt, keep pushing forward. I want the world to know that the future of education is here. Ibis is the pioneer of virtual learning 1 on 1 tutoring and Mentorship. Our staff is the most qualified group of brainiacs on earth and our prices are designed to help students succeed. I want the image of the ibis to inspire people and encourage them to over prepare and over perform for everything important in life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
From the airport we are having lunch at Versailles. Then we are getting our bathing suits and heading to the beach for the day. We will have dinner overlooking Biscayne Bay and then get ready for a night out bouncing from Wynwood to Brickell to South Beach. 3 am we come home, take a nap, and wake up and head to key west. There will definitely have been jet skis involved by this point. When we return we do a bike ride in the Everglades and spend our last day poolside at one of my secret hotel spots. I’ll drop you off at the airport – as long as it’s not rush hour !
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My deepest respects and eternal gratitude to my grandfather Joe Reisman who passed away in March at 91 years. He was my greatest mentor and best friend. Much of my wisdom comes from him.
