We had the good fortune of connecting with Anezka Libovicka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anezka, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk changed my whole life! It was never easy but I knew it would be worth it. Here is a list of a few of them: moving from the Czech Republic (in 2018) to Jamaica and stepping out of my comfort zone, leaving my family and friends, starting a new life in such a different environment, pursuing my passion and leaving my office job after a year and a half so I can focus on photography business only, jumping into a wedding photography industry and many more. I am grateful for every open and also closed door. Every single risk led to a life lesson and those experiences shaped me into the person I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I have learned is you have to love what you do and you have to have fun with it! And I am so grateful I found the career that makes me happy. And it makes other people happy too haha. I think the main thing that sets me apart is my customer service, which is a very important aspect for me. Especially when it comes to a wedding photography. I want to deliver the best work but I also want the whole process to be fun for me and for my clients, from the beginning to the end. I’m very grateful for every feedback, which is always full of excitement and that means the world to me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love this question! We are at the beginning of 2022 and I already had 3 friends and my cousin from the Czech Republic visiting me in Jamaica. Every time, the first place to stay is Ivy’s Cove at Whitehouse. My favorite place! Definitely check their IG @ivyscove. So our road trip would start at Whitehouse with the most beautiful sunsets and the night sky. After a few days, we will travel Kingston through the south coast where you can see real rural Jamaica. We would definitely stop by one great food shop for some stew chicken and rice and peas!

In Kingston, I would take my visitors to my favorite spots like my favorite coffee bar – Ragamuffin, I met some amazing people over there, another places we would go are – Veggie Campus for delicious vegan food, Devon house for great ice cream, and Sunday evening to Dub club, an amazing spot in the mountains with the best view and great music. A few more spots I love to take you around Kingston are Bob Marley Beach, Cane River, or the Blue Mountains. After that we would definitely visit my favorite parish in Jamaica – Portland. The nature over there is just breath-taking. Another place worth to visit is Negril, the 7 Miles Beach is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the white sand beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am forever grateful for the support of my family because I wouldn’t be able to do this without them. And I am so lucky to have support from all my friends, those friends who I consider my chosen family in Jamaica, and friends from the Czech Republic. Every person who is close to me is cheering me up all the time and I could not imagine my life without them – the list would be long but those who know, know <3. Thank you!
