We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Mallett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what do you want people to remember about you?
As a wedding photographer, my answer comes straight from the heart.

My greatest hope is for my legacy to be about the immense joy and lasting love I helped preserve. I want people to remember me as someone who truly loved making others remember and cherish their most precious moments for a lifetime.

Imagine them looking back at their wedding photos years from now, feeling that same surge of happiness and warmth. Knowing that I played a part in creating those tangible memories, bringing smiles and comfort to their hearts every time they flip through an album – that’s my ultimate reward. I simply want them to remember that I truly enjoyed making them happy, one beautiful moment at a time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What truly sets me apart is my absolute joy in seeing couples deeply in love. Being able to capture those unique, precious moments – the glances, the laughter, the quiet embraces – that they can cherish and look back on for a lifetime, is what fuels my passion and truly sets my work apart.

Getting to where I am today certainly wasn’t an easy path. There were moments of doubt and hurdles to overcome, but I was incredibly blessed to have the unwavering support of my loving family members who believed in me every step of the way and helped me achieve this dream. Along the way, I’ve learned that there will always be trial and error. I’ve learned to have grace with myself and embrace the idea that there’s no single “wrong” or “right” way to operate a business.

What truly keeps me going is my faith in God and the amazing clients I get to work with. After all these years, I feel like I’ve been living a dream I never thought was possible. I’m now a destination wedding photographer who gets to travel all over the States to capture those beautiful souls in love. I am truly blessed beyond measure.

Ultimately, I want the world to know this: if you want it, go for it. There is nothing and no person holding you back from what you can achieve. You simply have to believe in yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s absolutely no doubt where I’d take them: New York City. It’s without a doubt my favorite place in the world. I’ve been lucky enough to visit every single year for the last seven years, and sometimes even more than once a year!

That city just has so much to offer, it’s incredible. We’d definitely start with coffee and a delicious bagel for breakfast, then explore. Times Square after dark is a must-see, and the shopping district is just amazing. Honestly, you will never, ever run out of incredible things to do in NYC. It’s truly magical.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It truly is beautiful to reflect on the people who have shaped my journey.

First and foremost, my heart goes out to my incredible mom. She purchased my very first camera for me, a gift I never knew would lead me to where I am today.

And then, there’s my amazing husband. Helping me build this company from the ground up over the past ten years. Honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am today without either of them. Their unwavering belief and support mean the world to me.
