Meet Angela Moore | Certified Financial Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Modern Money Advisor and Modern Money Education were created to empower young professionals financially. Many of us go through elementary school through grad school without ever learning about the important aspects of personal finance. These are important life skills that can ultimately, in many ways, define long term success financially and personally. The guidance and information that we provide is life changing and transformational. We offer one-on-one financial guidance where we work with clients through every phase of their personal financial situation and educate them along the way on things such as budgeting, how to stick to a budget, having multiple streams of income, paying off debt, attacking student loans, understanding various forms of insurance, the importance of estate planning , the basics of investing and more. Our courses focus on the behavioral aspect of things which is extremely important. Some people may know what they need to do but for whatever reason, they don’t do it. A lot of this has to do with our emotional connection to money and to experiences we’ve had in the past. We help our students in our courses identify those things and learn ways to enhanced their money mindset .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I like to refer to Modern Money Advisor as an innovator in the financial planning industry . Our industry has long catered to wealthy, high net worth clients, but that sector of the market only makes up 4% of the population. What about the rest of us? Young people have extremely complex financial situations involving many competing priorities. We specialize in this group of people. We do not have any asset or income minimums. Our business has grown organically from individual referrals from clients as well as from our social media platforms. Many of our clients have said that this process has been life changing for them. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned since launching Modern Money Advisor is that authenticity and passion for purpose is everything .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a tough question because COVID 19 has made me forget a lot of the things that I used to love to do here in the city of Miami. One thing that will never change is our beautiful beaches and bright blue ocean. There are so many outdoor activities here that can be done in a safe and socially distant manner. One of my favorite things to do in Miami is eat out and now is a great time to support our local restaurants by ordering in or dining outside . They are a huge part of what makes Miami amazing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband, Kenneth Moore, for supporting me when I wanted to abruptly leave my job and start this business. Without his encouragement and support, I don’t think I would have had the courage to do this.
