We had the good fortune of connecting with Antione Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Antione, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I don’t know if this is a habit however I would say my positive attitude and outlook. I started to develop more of a positive attitude and outlook on life around this time. I was only of those kids who hated getting up early and school. I learned that those thoughts may be the reason and if I change my attitude and outlook I wouldn’t have bad days.
Since then the habits just stuck with me. It’s interesting because people don’t know how to take it sometimes. They wonder “why he in a good mood and its 15 degrees outside?”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lately I have been working on creating and developing my own podcast called Cafe Hours Podcast with my co-host Dijonee. A podcast created to generate debate, change perspectives, explore new concepts while capturing those convos we had growing up in the 90’s. Every aspect the platform has been create by us and the close knit team we hope to assemble.
“How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy?”
The quote “road less traveled” comes to mind when I think of the path I took to get to this point… It was not easy and I don’t really expect it too…I have learned that thing being easy or hard doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things it really comes down to are you willing to put in the work…
I’ve overcome many challenges to get this far. unsupportive family and friends, 3-6 hours long commutes to school, 14 hours work shifts, not have the knowledge to do the job, broken or lost hard drives with projects on it. The works!
However I’ve learned to that I’m still in control of what the outcome can be. I want the world to know dont get in your own way, sometimes you have to just send it… just like that text a 2am.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I believe that great convos and good experiences is what makes lifetime moments. I would take my best friend to the cafe spot is often go to throughout downtown Baltimore : Ceremony Coffee Roasters, Afters and Order and Chaos. We would have time to conversate on what’s next.
Game night or a home cook meal. I went to college to study cooking and the process of preparing a home cook meal really
Activities- I would take the on a trip to Washington D.C from Baltimore, however with will take the train. Its not all about the destination it’s about the journey
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“is a person, group, organization, book, etc that you want to dedicate your shoutout to” Yeah. I think it’s best to start with my foster family of Jena Johnson & Jeanette Gatewood-Johnson (Foster mother and grandmother): they both provided me with a solid foundation in which the success in my life is built upon. Next would have to be my former head chef Ed and the staff at Alonso’s a restaurant I worked at during my highschool and college years. These guys taught me so much about being a man, hard work, teamwork and respect. From day one til my last day they didn’t baby me. I had to earn my respect.
Lasty, all the lawyers, social workers, teachers, professors, chef instructors, mentors and friends: they gave me the game. Guidance Attention Motivation And Education
