We had the good fortune of connecting with Astrid Voxx and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Astrid, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always wanted to have an all female band to give women a safe place to play music and be role models to other girls/women that we can be more if we work together as a team! I also saw the need to diversify the playing field as there are very few women in bands so it’s a nice change to buck the trend! It feels great seeing my fellow musical sisters rockin out plus now my daughter sings and plays percussion with us giving her an insiders view of leading a band, teamwork and fulfilling her musical talents as well!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Like most women in music, we have a very careful balance of including our sensuality as part of our creativity without losing the professional acceptance from your peers and fans alike even though I know we can’t please everyone! The Bango Bango’s hasn’t been an easy project to realize but 4 years later we’re still here! Dedicated women is what this band is about as well as having fun ! We aspire to do more originals and add them to our shows so we can bring our own experiences and messages through our music as well as inspiring through cover music, we want to write the future cover songs others will play!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My daughter gave me the courage to inspire me to enact my dream and my current bandmates-Lana Wise, Paula Gaviño, Lenore Goldman and Karla Soto give me the inspiration to work hard to forge ahead and create a successful brand and band business all with low drama and minimal stress!!
