We had the good fortune of connecting with Bavié Grafals and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bavié, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that the more you fear something, the more you need to dive head first into it. The what if’s are more haunting than knowing you chased a dream or goal, regardless of the outcome.
Even a “loss” is a win, as it is always an experience, lesson, and opportunity for growth.
Life is a risk in itself. We are given a world with endless opportunities to expand, grow, and share with every living being we share this beautiful earth with.
Taking risks has helped me better understand and cope with mental health issues, believe in myself more, find the good in the world and the moments that seem the worst, inspire others, and experience a life I never dreamed of.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I race mountain bikes, for now. Who knows what bike or bikes you’ll see me on next?! I have faced and overcome countless obstacles along the way. So many, and at times so deep, that most would not believe. It has not been easy and only becomes more challenging as I continue to work toward my goals.
I just keep my eyes on the prize, knowing it may change along the way, and most importantly enjoy the journey and process.
I’ve learned that you have to find true happiness, regardless of circumstance, and chase your dreams.
Your thoughts and attitude will change the world around you, and what you will attract in return is that which you exude and believe.
Surround yourself with people who will create symbiotic relationships in which you inspire and lift each other.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of the the people from my past and present who have motivated, inspired, and taught me priceless lessons. Those who continue to support and believe in all that I am in any and every way that they can.
And to those who persevere, follow the dreams, and always find a way to give love and compassion back to those around them whether near or far.
To this breathtaking planet.
To the cycling community.
And to those closest to me, who have stuck by my side through thick and thin… you know who you are!
