We had the good fortune of connecting with Becerra Miguel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Becerra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started out of passion, for love of art and fashion, but I am more motivated that through my work I can contribute to building the country and help other people by employing and at the same time doing what I like.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am different from the others, I am a spokesperson and precursor of the management of ancestral techniques, I come from an artistically rich state, in a small town historically from generation to generation the embroidered fabric of Carthage is made, I implement this technique in my clothes, I support many families in need and mothers who are heads of households, rescuing the ancestral culture of my country Colombia and showing it to the whole world fills me with pride, I like what I represent in my wardrobe, the identity of my country, the color, the joy and your people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take him to Cali Colombia, I would show him the popular and street gastronomy that is the best we have, I would walk him along the boulevard and I would invite him to eat cholado, which is a soft drink with crushed ice and a variety of fruits accompanied by sweet molasses, which I would take you to dance salsa to the traditional places of the capital, visit the hill of San Antonio, it is a very beautiful viewpoint of the city and then I would take you to the hill of the cross to see all the handicrafts and typical souvenirs of my country.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a man of faith and strong convictions, I believe in God and his superior strength, whenever I work I have been motivated by what I believe and in his power, I feel that I am blessed with my talent
