We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Neptune and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is God and Faith. This has sustained me and my brand for nearly a dcecade. The foundation of my success comes comes from those 2 key elements.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am very versatile in the beauty industry. I haven’t stayed in one area. My services include everything that is involved in the salon and barbershop. I have not limited my gifts. The key to my success was expanding my skills. Was it easy? No! I went through so much to get here. I entered the beauty field, starting as a makeup artist. My transition was initiated through hardship. I survived a volatile domestic violence relationship and a police brutality case. My record was tarnished from my last job. I was working with the special needs community. Immediately I had to change careers, and that created an opportunity for me to become a Creative. I was always an artist. Traditionally in an island household, it isn’t considered a lucrative career. I leaped in faith, and I’m still here with more titles under my belt. I overcame many obstacles with God and my family. The lessons I learned along the way were necessary. I had to be mindful of what I shared about my business and life. Wisdom has granted me favor in my brand and success. My brand was produced while living in a domestic violence shelter. I graduated from beauty school in a shelter. It was important to strive for greatness, no matter the cost. Tenacity is the key to success!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to give credit and praise to Yahweh (God). The strength of Yahweh has kept me afloat in seasons that seemed impossible to survive. Philippians 4:13, “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.” Secondly, I want to thank my children; they have endured every obstacle with me and have remained humble and resilient through the process. They are great children; they are angels on earth! My motivation has been fueled by them and for them. I want them to know that all I do is for them! The sacrifices and suffering were to provide them stability. Next, I want to thank those who have continuously poured into me and supported my business for many years. The support has come in the forms of prayer and so much more. Also, I want to thank the many individuals who have held my hand throughout my trials and tribulations. There are connections that no longer exist in this season, and I want to acknowledge them. Although they were temporary, their purpose in my life was necessary for growth. Furthermore, I want to thank my dear sister, Davica Williams. She has been the epitome of a true friend. She has been an answered prayer. The bond and sisterhood we share are priceless. We hold each other accountable for our success. I can’t believe God sent her as my sister on this earth. She is truly a gift from God. At last, I want to thank my parents for bringing me into this world. I’m so honored that God has selected you to be my parents. Everything that I am is because of you. God allowed your DNA to be embedded in me to achieve greatness on earth. Thank you for putting up with all the reckless things I did growing up. Your prayers and tears have kept me and sustained me for all these seasons. To my future husband, who is on his way, Thank you in advance for all your love and support. Your humility, patience, love, and tenacity are what I prayed for without ceasing. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
