We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Hildreth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Becky, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Success is liking Yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” -Maya Angelou
I love this quote because it reminds me of how blessed I am to get to do what I love every day. So often we attribute success to money, but in actuality, happiness shared with others, passion for what you do, and how you do it is the real definition of success to me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in color, but can confidently cut and style as well. The Industry has evolved so much since I started in 2008. Being inspired daily to continue to learn through seminars and classes, to challenge conventional boundaries, and driven to think outside the box from Industry leaders and creative spirits in my social circle, has become such an enjoyable and appreciative aspect of my life that I cherish and welcome as I continue to develop in my career. I’m now able to create endless looks using any and every color imaginable.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Miami I have friends that visit throughout the year. The obvious spots are the local beaches, but another area I like to explore is Wynwood (Wynwood Walls). This area is reminds me of Miami’s true creative edge and displays so much of the cultural melting pot of artistic representation that is Miami. With so many culinary and social hot spots to dine and hang, KYU is my go-to restaurant and Wood Tavern never disappoints if you’re looking for a laid-back, casual atmosphere, with good music and dancing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My late father. He raised my three sisters and I on his own since we were little girls. He instilled his tireless work ethic and provided unwavering support in me and my life passions. He was an amazing person. I know he’s proud of me.
