Meet Bri Janét | Vocal Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bri Janét and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bri, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up all I ever wanted to do was sing. Nothing in this world made me happier. I always told myself I do not want to live my life in regret of not following my passion. Also, there are so many different avenues of music that I enjoy beside being an artist such as, bgv (back ground vocals), voiceover vocals and even writing. I love all aspects of it and my goal is to extend myself in all those areas. All I know is music and from a young age I just knew that’s what I needed to pursue.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What makes me unique and sets me apart from other artists is that my vocal ability is very versatile. I love all different types of music from reggae, to gospel, to R&B and my tone can suit any genre I sing. I cannot be boxed in. I can give you any style of music and still have my dope soulful vibe. I’m most proud of my growth. I have shifted my perspective when it comes to my artistry and how I view myself. It’s always me against me. I’m proud of my consistency to keep going because I am able to look back and see the growth I’ve made musically and mentally. I would say i have reached my level of success just by simply being myself. It has not been easy. But ever since I focused on self love and setting high standards it has opened the door for many opportunities. One lesson that has helped me along the way is to make sure that I put God first in everything that I do and everything else has fallen right into place. The one thing I want people to know about me is that I’m a giver. A giver of love, my music, my experiences, and lessons and if that can at least help motivate and inspire at least one person to live out their dreams and reach their best potential in all that they do then all that I do will never be in vain.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them?
The first place I would take them is to get some food. Food is always a priority. My favorite place to go when i have family or friends in town is Pan Fridays, my favorite is the jerk chicken and shrimp pasta. Then we are headed to the beach. I’m from New York and New Jersey so I know the beach isn’t a luxury they get to see everyday. Once we get to the beach we are definitely going jet skiing or parasailing. I’m an adventurous active kind of girl. I love doing fun outside activities. Later in the evening would be more of a calm time. We would get cute and go to like an open mic or spoken word event, anything where live music is involved really. The most fun kind of people for me would be people who are spontaneous and always down for a good time. I love people who are down to just vibe and chill. I’m not too much of a turn up party girl so more adventures and small intimate chill settings is just fine for me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to give a shoutout first and foremost to God because without him I literally cant do anything. Also my support system is very strong. I have a very supportive musical family that I have the pleasure of learning from everyday so shout out to them. Also shout out to my brother who is also my producer, he is amazing and inspires me everyday to be better in my craft.
