We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Cuiffo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was deciding to take control of my health and happiness. If I never did that I wouldn’t be as good a coach, daughter, sister, or girlfriend. The way I see it is I had to help myself before I could help others so that is just what I did! I worked hard to put my autoimmune diseases into remission and to become more mindful of the type of way I spoke to myself and others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My first business, Coaching by Brie, is where I get to help people heal their gut, feel supported and take control of their health and happiness. I believe what sets me apart is that a few years ago I was in the exact position that most of my clients are in today so I have been through it and I speak from firsthand experiences. I am extremely passionate about showing people that they don’t have to live with nagging symptoms forever not only physically but mentally. The whole process of setting up my business was fairly easy to me because I had the help of my business coaches, but once it was time to get paying clients I found imposter syndrome to be my biggest challenge, but it is something that I work on every single day. Sometimes I just have to remind myself that I am capable of changing lives! I want the world to know that quick fixes and fad diets are not the way to go if you want to be TRULY healthy and happy. My second business, Baked by Brie, is where I get to show people that healthy treats don’t have to taste bad. In fact, they can taste just as good if not better than traditional cookies made with gluten, dairy, grains and refined sugars. Growing up my Nana and mom always made these Walnut Cookies that were everyone’s favorite but once I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease I couldn’t enjoy them anymore. After a lot of experimenting and failed attempts I was finally able to recreate the recipe to be just as delicious. The cookies are gluten free, dairy free, grain free, refined sugar free and made in a dedicated gluten free kitchen!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m going to make this a Miami edition because Miami is one of my favorite places to travel. I’ll tell you why… When I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune reaction to gluten, I thought I would never be able to enjoy traveling again. Until, my boyfriend and I went to Miami in 2019 and had the most amazing experience. Miami made traveling with Celiac Disease a breeze! So, first thing in the morning we are stopping at Preston’s Market in the Lowe’s Miami Beach Hotel because they serve the most amazing gluten free pancakes. Then, we are going to hangout on the beach for a bit to get a nice tan and enjoy the beautiful water. For lunch we are going to La Leggenda to visit the owner Giovanni and eat the best gluten free pizza ever. Then, we will walk around a bit on Lincoln to do some shopping. For dinner and drinks we are taking a bit of walk to Yard Bird. It is well worth the walk though because they sell a gluten free fried chicken that will wow anybody! After that, we will go walk around where the night life is and see what we can find!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I owe so much to my family and boyfriend for being by my side during my whole lifestyle transition. They have supported me in ways I never even imagined and they keep me going when times get tough! I would also like to shoutout my first business mentors Brian, Jordan and Matt at O23 Coaching Systems. They are the whole reason that I am the coach I am today and I know I can always reach out to them when I need some business advice!
