We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to choose this creative career because it definitely chose me first! Being a creative was always apart of my life from every stage of my life. Started with dancing, to taking a liking to makeup & hair from performing (I loved how I felt when I was made up for every performance!), to modeling/fashion shows, to directing fashion shows & being behind the scenes for makeup & hair, to apart of a glam team for photoshoots & VIP clients. Even if I had the opportunity to steer away from the creative realm, it’s my calling so I would eventually find my way back in it. This life was meant for me – I truly believe that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a beauty creative – Makeup artistry, hair stylist, esthetician (skin expert), & a cosmetology instructor. What sets me apart, is that I care about your skin & the experience I give during your makeup appointment – plus I share simple knowledge for everyday women who may not know much about makeup. It wasn’t easy getting to a space where I am now in my career (just like anything new really) & it still isn’t easy but it is doable. Every stage in my life in my career was a gateway & the next stepping stone to what I need to do next for elevation in my career. Lessons I learned are to while learning & growing, in it, have fun, stay positive throughout, & know that God already rewarded you with what is instore for you all you need is to activate your faith & be consistent in your message. When you look at my brand, it is free, colorful in a tasteful positive way & that your health comes first then beauty – always.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LOL! This is a funny question. I’m honestly an introvert & my best friend kind of is too but when we are together, we like to talk for hours either at a beach or ice cream shop! We have kids now so the extreme night life scene is definitely put to rest. I feel like Miami has the best brunch spots! We love a cute Miami Beach brunch spot! Spots: Another Broken Egg Cafe Wharf Miami Cold stone Ice Cream Mr. Kream Wynwood The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh most definitely! My friend & a photographer who I worked with since 2015 & has pushed me heavily to be a better artist! His name is Dion Burton – Dioburto Photography based in Miami.
