We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Burroughs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am an ultra runner and have always loved granola. I also help with dog rescues so I am on the go a lot. The processed store bought granola was making me sick on my longer training runs and races. I decided to make my own granola that is for dog and people! Yes, our granola can be given as treats to your four legged best friends.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently a Corporate Billing and Account Manager for TBC Corporation. I also am working on my MBA. My business Bark Bar Granola started as a hobby and passion. I hope to leave the corporate world and spread the love of Bark Bar Granola. We are a very young and new company with lots of learning and growing to do. I want my granola to fuel the adventures of others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. A vacation for friends would include the beaches, state parks, outdoor shooting ranges and water front dining.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like recognize Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. They inspired me to work more on helping rescue dogs and animals. They helped inspire the idea to make granola that can be shared with our pets.
