We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlo Dipasquale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlo, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I moved from Sicily to the USA because my intention from the start was to work for myself and start my own business. I didn’t want my life to revolve around a 9 to 5 job and depending from a boss. I wanted to have control over my life and my career and I knew USA was the perfect place to make it happen and being successful , more than any other places in the world.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think what’s set me apart from the other is the fact that I was born and raised in another country and when I came to miami I started representing mostly foreign buyers due to the fact that I have a degree in foreign languages and literature: I speak italian , Spanish , Portuguese and English. When dealing with a foreign buyer or seller, being able to communicate with them in their language make a huge difference because the client tends to feel more at ease, especially when discussing the sale of one of his biggest assets. Also being familiar with their culture , mentality and the way of conducting business helps .
What excites me the most is the negotiating porting of the transaction: working to negotiate the best possible price for my client.

To get to where I am today it took a lot of dedication and consistency: you are basically always on and on top of being constantly on top of your game dealing with clients, you have at the same time adapt to the market which is constantly changing , and that’s the most frustrating and the same time exciting part of the business.

A big lesson I have learned is that you cannot do everything on your own: you have to hire a marketing person , a pr, an assistant and in my case , I have also formed a team of 14 people which I love to work with: that has become the fundamental and the structure of the business .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friendto some of the est restaurants such as

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Working for and with Alicia Cervera senior was a real honor, she contributed to the creation of miami and to what miami has become today and asking her question and listening to her was better than any school or classes I could have attended . I owed her a lot and I will be always thankful to her
