We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina Bernal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was “No, I cant. Am I crazy? ” to “am I sure” to “Why not?” to “ok I got to trust God, I got to have faith” to “ok, I will do it” to finally “LETS DO IT!” and “I am victorious”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art speaks words. My art always has a meaning of every stroke, every symbol, every color and theme, it is a statement of who God is and who we are. My art, is unique because it is not like any other art you have seen. It isn’t just something ordinary, it is extraordinary. It speaks into your heart and spirit. People, when they look at my art say they feel a certain way. They feel peace, joy, …… That’s why it is sold so that other people can take a “piece of heaven” to their own home.

Art classes are also given for whoever wants to learn. Lastly, the art I create, states a message of love and peace! it stands for things that are vital in this world and against things that don’t make this world right. (for example racism, slavery and more) It isn’t a secret that building up a business is NEVER easy. However when one perseveres day by day, and not give up, your business will always grow eventually.

Many challenges have arrived, lack of clients, being stuck in the old and more (specially with the pandemic) but one has to have always have two things 1. perseverance 2. Take new risks and ideas and follow them. an example of this is when the pandemic started, the artistic classes were at stake. People did not want to attend classes. I then took a step of faith and while persevering, took the next step. I was going to sell my art and provide classes online. This gave results and during this pandemic, Colors of Hope has stayed strong. Always persevere and not give up, as crazy as your idea sounds. All you need is perseverance and faith that you can. Always say, I CAN! when you believe this, It will happen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
