We are so inspired by the businesses in our community because of how many of them are committed to helping to make the world better than it is today. Check out some great businesses below and how they are helping others.

About 1 in 4 Americans experience insomnia each year. Our mission is to give the 40+ million people who suffer from chronic insomnia the tools and support they need to stop suffering and start sleeping as quickly as possible. We help our clients get and stay asleep even if they’ve “tried everything” and have been struggling with sleep for years. At Sleep Science Academy we’ve found that it takes addressing sleep holistically to create life-changing results and that when you get your mind out of the way of your body… sleep happens naturally. We don’t just treat the symptoms. We address the root causes of insomnia, resulting in lifelong improvements. Read more>>
A child lost their life in school at the hand of a deranged gunman…” is a headline we should never have to read. When the story continues to include multiple children and adults, occurring at numerous schools and organizations over decades, we know a larger issue is occurring in our society. The founders of Guardian Defense formed this organization after realizing the devastating effects major school shootings like the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in 2012 and the Beslan School Massacre in Russia in 2004, had on society. Whether it was an active shooter, or an active threat (such as a hostile parent or violent intruder), we knew that school administrators were looking for ways to protect their students and staff. I feel that through the classes we provide at The Nest, people make connections with other locals, moms create meaningful relationships with other moms and people get good childbirth, pregnancy and postpartum education so they can prepare themselves for what’s coming in the process of becoming parents. I hear over and over again how people made or changes their choices about birth as well as postpartum after attending a class or a workshop. And many times birthing people will tell me how helpful and empowering certain information was to them in their birth journey. I know several moms who became best friends after attending classes together. I am most proud about the community we make. Read more>>

I am Helen Kagan, PhD, a healer and artist, a creator of my unique multi-dimensional concept “HealingArts” I’ve been developing for about 30 years. I believe that ART is a catalyst for healing individuals, society and environment. I’ve been a pioneer in creating art with an INTENTION to heal. As a severe PTSD survivor my own complex life Journey brought me to the point where I would not survive without creating. As a true “healing artist” who started to use art, energy and spiritual work, music, movement, and other expressive modalities to support my own healing, and to enhance a healing process to those in need, I bring together Fine Art, and the Art of Healing by integrating healing frequencies of color, positively charged intention, embedded spiritual messages, and energetically balanced composition. I used to post me in the kitchen just for fun. I would have fun sharing things I made with people. I started getting messages about how I should share all my stuff more regularly. Then I received messages from people who didn’t even know how to boil water (literally) and needed help with basic cooking questions. I have always answered each and every question I received personally. I was surprised and shocked how many people did not know how to prepare a basic meal. It honestly stunned me beyond belief. I was raised in a home where we mostly ate at home and meals were prepared by my mom, aunts and grandmother. Through conversation with these people messaging me, It honestly made me sad to see how many people relied on fast food and meal delivery services. Read more>>
We live as human beings in a society where we are interconnected and anything we do that supports the well-being of others has a ripple effect. As a holistic health and mental health professional I help people improve their lives in a variety of ways, including helping clients develop skills that support inner peace and more harmonious relationships and providing therapies that foster improvement in physical health and personal performance. When people are in distressed, traumatized states or patterns in their lives they tend to perpetuate those patterns and generate even more distress in their families and communities. By helping people find healing I am helping break the cycle of trauma and helping them to contribute to society in more beneficial ways rather than having a negative or harmful impact on those around them. Simply put, when people are more physically and mentally healthy they are better able to give energy to nurture others and contribute to their communities in whatever roles they function in.
