We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassandra J and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassandra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When deciding to start my own business, I had to weigh out the pros and cons and the pro’s were beyond overwhelming. I decided to make this move for myself to not only better myself and future, but to truly follow my dreams and make myself proud. Despite it’s struggles, there’s no better reward than working for yourself I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a Beauty Artist, we are service providers, so making sure each client leaves happy and satisfied is the goal, I believe what sets me apart from the rest is that I value this deeply. Customer service is top priority for me, I feel as though the beauty industry has lost the importance of this throughout the years and I’m here to bring it back! I’m most excited about adding new services to my offerings, I’m currently in the process of mastering a new skill which I feel as though my clients will love I can’t wait to announce it! My professional journey has been filled with twists and turns, specifically, makeup artistry, it is extremely difficult because no two faces are the same, there are so many face shapes, skin types, skin colors, undertones, and eye shapes to work with. I found that true mastery lies in being able to service anyone that sits in your chair, no matter what. It was not easy but due to countless hours of studying, research, and practice this is a challenge I can proudly say I’ve overcomed. Finally, I want the world to know that Cee the Beauty, caters to women of all ages and background and our mission is to leave you feeling even more beautiful than when you first arrived.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was visiting for a trip down to South Florida, I would make sure they had a good time by first taking them to the beach! That has to be the first stop when visiting our sunshine state, Fort Lauderdale Beach is always a good time there’s so much to do. We would walk the beach, have fun in the water, then head to either Rock Bar or Coconuts for a bite to eat. Next day, I’d take them to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens which is in Palm Beach but absolutely worth the drive. The cultural environment is perfect for a calm day out and about, and she can definitely get some cute pictures to take back home. Then, I’d take her for a wine tasting at Best Cellars Wine & Lounge right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, after sipping about 10-15 different wine selections, I’d take her to have a nice dinner on the water at Shooter’s Waterfront to end the night. To end the trip, South FL style, I’d have to take her to Miami for a night out on the town to Wynwood Art District where theres a party on every block! My best friend probably won’t ever want to leave!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Throughout every journey, especially mine, there are certain individuals that help you along the way. Personally, my support system comprises of my three best friends of 10 years, Michaeleigh, Briana, and Kyara. These ladies allowed for me to perfect my craft, over and over again, gifting me their time which is one of the most precious things each of us have. Not only this, the times in which I tried to give up, I got discouraged, and simply was unmotivated they were always there to remind me of my purpose. Constantly referring me to family and friends, and posting about my business when they can, without them I wouldn’t be here today.
