We had the good fortune of connecting with Cat Lantigua and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cat, how does your business help the community?
Goddess Council (GC) is a social wellness club and sisterhood for women seeking deep connections, healing, and joy! As we’ve come to learn during this intense period of isolation and social distancing, being a part of a collective that supports you and makes you feel less alone in the world is critical to one’s social health. Goddess Council’s mission is to raise awareness around social wellness by bringing people together in a mindful and authentic way, while granting women an opportunity to make new and fulfilling friendships.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work as a community architect is centered around curating experiences that are heart-centered and nourishing! I appreciate the nuances of bringing people together in impactful ways by always maintaining the concept of sustainable social wellness front of mind. I think about the ways I can assist people in creating long-term relationships that will nurture them over the long term and build around that. This is something that I’ve come to learn is a necessary role to play within my micro community because it helps people feel and live better. It’s a role that ensures that I always grow and expand to maintain connection to others in fulfilling ways!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I moved to Austin recently so I’m still navigating this new city, but if I was back in my hometown of Miami and COVID wasn’t a concern, things would look very different! I would take my friend to have breakfast at Casavana or Sergio’s in Kendall! I’d coordinate a cute weekend brunch experience for us at Monty’s. We would bar hop in Brickell. If Sidebar was still open, I would certainly make a pit stop there! We would indulge in a self-care day at The Standard or at The Fountainbleau. We’d spend the day in Miami Beach and eat at a local restaurant (while we still have tiny grains of sand on our feet). Ultimately, having fun and creating beautiful new memories has a lot to do with the the company we keep, so as long as I’m with my good friends, I’m sure we would have a great time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my partner Frank! His presence in my life of the past 4 years has been instrumental in my growing ability to believe that my big ideas are worth pursuing and that really really great humans exist out in the world.
