We had the good fortune of connecting with Cesia & Keren Alvarado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cesia & Keren, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well I think we can agree when I say starting a business is never easy but also never impossible. We are one of those stories that explain how one day we woke up and said “let’s start our owe business”. At that time, my sister and I were jobless due to the pandemic and looking for a job was hard. After searching for countless of job we finally sat down and thought about what we are good at. My sister Cesia is an architect, so she’s good with deigns and I Keren have a degree in public relations. Putting all our talents together, we regrouped and said “let’s our own business”! We collected our thoughts and ideas and decided to do our business on balloon decorators. We knew we taking a huge step but we took a step of faith and went with the punches. At first it was bit rocky but as we continued our love for decorating parties grow. We enjoy every countless nights of sleep and we most definitely enjoy every hug and smile from the clients. Starting this business was the best thing that ever happened to us. It might have been a risk but it was a risk we were willing to take and so should you all.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Where can we start, this business has been such a blessing. Being in the business industry, we have learned that there will always be competition from who does it best to who charges the best. But we also have learned that in every business there is something that stands out from the rest and for us thats our desire to not only help our clients spice up their events but to also get to know them so that we can better understand who they are and what they like so that we can add a little bit of them in their events. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not always rainbows and butterflies, there were moments were we wanted to throw the towel and give up. Blowing up balloons at first was a hassle. The balloon would pop every time, we didn’t know how make a balloon garland and unite the balloons. It was all a process to get to where we are now. Balloon decorating was never something we thought in a billion years we would do and until this day we are still amazed that we have this business. We are still not where we want to be but we are also not where we used to be and that’s a great filling.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We are so fortunate to have so many supporters and friends that push us to continue with our business. We first want to thank God for giving us this opportunity. We would like to give a huge shoutout to our parents. What can we say, they have been there since day one. From early mornings too late at night, through every mistake, every tear, and every laughter. To my mother’s endless love and encouragement and to my business men father, thank you. A special shoutout to our father for helping us build material that we needed and for lending us your shed. To our brother Daniel Alvarado, thank you allowing yourself to help us out even on your day off or when you are really tired. You have been such a huge help and blessing to this business. To Jamille Genoves, huge shoutout to you for allowing us to decorate your baby shower as our first event. Your baby shower gave us the push that we needed to continue with our business. Lastly, we want to thank our friends and family (I would name them but I would run out of space) for supporting our business, for sharing our page, and showing love to every post on our social medias. Without your love we wouldn’t be were we are today. We are deeply grateful for you all!
