We had the good fortune of connecting with Chantel Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chantel, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have always been known for tackling multiple tasks and duties with ease while keeping a bright smile. After becoming a first time mother, I gained a great deal of understanding as it relates to Balancing and full time “mommy duty” Trust me, a lot of it was by trial and error while implementing processes and procedures. However, after multiple attempts and the “tag team” strategies from my Husband, the balancing act became very easy the maintain over time. Of course this particular way of balancing work-life began approximately 6 years ago and a lot has changed since then. Having a scheduling system in place while being creative throughout the day is the major key to mastering the work-life balance. I have recently shifted the way I perform certain operations. As a result of these changes taking place, I have been blessed with the opportunity of writing and Publishing my first book. This book represents a step by step guided action plan that is guaranteed to empower current and aspiring entrepreneurs as well as Community leaders wearing multiple hats struggling with balancing life’s daily expectations. This book encourages one to always keep your eyes focused on the vision because it will be the only thing visible when you are faced with an unexpected interruption and forced to pivot. My force to pivot which created my willingness to balance change over time occurred during the 2020 Pandemic. I was forced into full time entrepreneurship when my job laid me off suddenly and unexpectedly. I truly feel that God was preparing me for such a time as this and I remained humble and understanding of his perfect will during the entire process. I was pleased with the development and growth strategies already in place with my business, along with the fact that I had been building connections, planting seeds, and maintaining great rapports within my organizations and community. As a result, I was able to have a clear mindset about the “unexpected interruption”. I feel that if none of this had been in place, then the recent layoff would have affected me in a negative way. However, it pushed me to an even higher level in my business and shifted my way of thinking even more. It also made room for me to use my voice and to share my story. I have embraced this testimony as an empowerment platform inspiring others to keep pushing and going after their goals and dreams, while living out their God given talent and vision.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a graphic designer and Business empowerment leader, I enjoy pouring into others while using my gift of creativity. What sets me apart, is that I build direct connections and rapports with each client and business professional that I come in contact with. I over-deliver during each 1-on-1 session along with routine follow up strategy sessions with them throughout the term of the project. Once the project has been completed I remain connected and perform frequent checkups and send out email campaigns to them. I love learning of their business and vision throughout each encounter. I put myself in their shoes and allow them to fully release the business stress they may be facing, all while reassuring them of my willingness to help every step of the way. I ensure that my clients understand that their main focus should be on the business development and to leave the business graphics and marketing to me. This takes a lot of pressure off of them and they are able to shift their focus on their business more. This process is fairly easy because I allow the clients to be themselves and I am also very transparent with them. I want the world to know that my brand story is written to inspire. I understand where I am going, because I know exactly where I have come from. I am thankful for the opportunity of being able to serve and help others. I have invested into coaches and resources and have received a great deal of knowledge from both. It’s only fair that I pay it forward and always remain willing to lend a helping hand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would gladly show them a great time. Keeping each day interactive and fun. On Day 1 we would just enjoy seeing each again and catch up on old news and happenings. We would have a late lunch/early dinner (since she may arrive in town late from traveling) at a local restaurant that sits along the water. This will give us a fresh moment to catch up and enjoy the scenery while sharing updates about life. On Day 2 we would enjoy a nice brunch and morning walk to embrace mindfulness and the devotional moments. Next would be an evening of shopping and having fun. Day 3 would be a full Self-care day. We would enjoy a day of pedicures, manicures, massages, and full relaxation. During this time we will focus on refreshing our mind, body, and spirit. On Day 4 we would enjoy time staying inside, Bing watching our favorite shows, laughing and enjoy each other. On Day 5, we would take a trip to the gym and work off some of the pounds we may have put on from being so relaxed and enjoying great food choices! The gym will allow us more freedom for our health and wellness. On Day 6 we would do something fun and interactive with our families all together. On Day 7 we will attend church followed by brunch and recap our time together. Lastly it will be time for her to travel back home, so we will nicely say our good byes and begin planning our next moment together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother (Maxine J. Brown). I thank God for providing the vision of this business to her. She was obedient in sharing the idea with me in 2005, which is when Maxxtell Creations, LLC was founded (hints the business name). She has been my biggest supporter, accountability partner, and prayer warrior my entire life. She is the main reason behind this legacy building empire.

Next my Husband Alex Williams, Jr. is definitely one who deserves a shoutout. We are complete opposites, but we definitely attract and balance each other in a great way. He understands the passion behind all of the late nights and early mornings, as well as the faith moves I take daily as a full time entrepreneur.

Last but not least I have to shoutout my first born son, Alexander M. Williams, III (Tre’). He is my “Why” and I like to call him “the little legacy holder”. He is one of the other reasons behind the vision and mission of my business, goals, and dreams. I understand the importance of paving the way because I know that he is watching closely. He is also the one who gives me that needed push on my lowest days. He has taught me the purpose of being able to creatively balance life’s daily tasks and encounters.
