Hi Paul, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor for me and my business to succeed is that we became on a reliable service provider for our customers. Our goal is to never miss an appointment or deadline

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company is Diesel Yachts Florida, the only Caterpillar Authorized Marine Dealer in Miami, This is a dream come true… Working as a engineer so many years (since 2006 till 2016) for CATERPILLAR Dealers and then for 18 months as an engineer on a Mega Yacht in Europe, I could developed both sides of the story, talking about yachts/engine services, because I switch from the service provider side to the customer side… That was a breaking point in my career, and then when I decided to go back to shore, I said to myself, “I have had to apply for the CATERPILLAR Authorized Marine Dealer in Miami”, the oportunity was there and I took it!

Having the “know how” to perform services and also knowing from the first hand what a customer needs, was a matter of time to build our reputation and get the recognizing of Caterpillar and their South Florida Dealer (Pantropic Power) to accept our proposal to become Dealer in Miami.

Was not an easy process, to leave our country, to build a name in the marine industry that is extremely demanding, was exhausting, but we learned that what the customers just want from You is to be professional.

Even though that Diesel Yachts is still on the first year, we are entering in our fourth year running businesses here in Miami, our name and reputation is well positioned on the biggest and most prestigious marinas and shipyards around the city. We are a family business managed as a big corporation, with structure and administrative process that allow us to follow up every single step on each service we are performing at any time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That just happened last summer, we did a family weekend with his beautiful family. We went on a boat day around Miami River, Brickell, Nixon Beach… Went to the Miami Zoo, this is one of our favorite places to go with the kids, had dinner in Olive Garden (amazing), drinks we have in Mojitos Bar, another place to have a nice dinner is at Kokai Sushi in Weston, Cheesecake Factory or Chili’s. Of course taking them for shopping at Sawgrass Mills Mall…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that I have to thank for the support, starting from my parents, my brothers and my beautiful wife! And all the people from CATERPILLAR and their Dealers that supported me and taught me the good practices to perform a mechanical service. To the captain Luis Balbin and Manuel Delgado who truly help me to be where I am now…
