We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Bolt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Once I realized that I wanted to make rum, I knew I wanted to make a rum unlike any other using the highest quality ingredients. To do that I’d have to have full creative control over the process. Working for someone else would never allow me that, so the only option was to start my own distillery.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Located in an old firehouse in West Palm Beach, we utilize the highest quality ingredients, from grade A molasses, to reverse osmosis water remineralized with pink Himalayan salt. We double distill our rum using copper pot stills, first through a 1000 gallon stripping still followed by a 600 gallon spirit still with thumper. No additives or carbon filtration are used, leaving you with the true unaltered flavor of rum. Currently we offer our white rum, with barrel aged rum in the works!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A weekend in West Palm Beach is full of opportunity! The beach, the bike path, and all the fun restaurants to hang at. A favorite for locals and friends of Revenge Rum would be the Old Key Lime House. This is a great place to grab a drink, hang out on the water and listen to live music!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout everyone in my family, but in particular my mom who’s been a guiding force helping me overcome the plethora of obstacles I’ve hit while trying to get my business off the ground. I’d also like to shoutout my friend Ryan Kocak who is also my right hand at the distillery and makes going to work a much more fun experience.
