We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Kertesz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well my thought was that i wanted to be not only financially more secure for my family, but to also have more flexibility to enjoy my family time as well. I also wanted to create a space in this market that people could afford and enjoy.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a Truck Driving Academy that teaches people the knowledge and skills needed to take the Class A commercial driving test. I have been in the trucking industry for 30 years and am very passionate about what i do. This venture has not been easy as im going up against some very big companies who have vast more resources then I do. I decided to open my facility to give the people the training that they need at a price they could afford. I do not overload my classes just to make a buck, I keep it small to maximize learning. That sets me apart from everyone else. I want the world to know that Truck Driving Academy is here to help you . We care about our clients future and strive for perfection. We plan on being a leader in the teaching industry in the very near future, and would love the opportunity to help those looking for a way to make a better living.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting from out of town then a must go to spot is the Florida Keys. Everything from fishing to snorkeling to jet skis. You cant have a bad time in the Keys. Key West is a must go to island for its laid back atmosphere and just cool vibe. Sloppy Joes, Capt Tonys, The Green Parrot are some destination bars. And you are not only 90 miles from Cuba but you will also experience one of the best sunsets of your life.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My beautiful and supportive fiance Kristin Johnson
