We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The business was started in 1932 by my father’s mentor. The business thrived in NY until the pandemic. That is when I decided to relocate the business to Fl.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Repairing leather goods is more of an art than a craft. There are many shoe repair persons that can work on handbags, however, few of them have the skillset to work on bags in an artistic matter. I take the time to make sure that my finished product is as perfect as possible Although my dad is my friend, he is a perfectionist. As a youth, this was quite challenging, however, as an adult I totally understand why he put be through the rigors

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to a little gem in Fort Lauderdale called Sky Thai Sushi. After dinner, we would go across the street to YOLO for people watching and cocktails. The following day we would spend the day on the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father has been my mentor and best friend all of my life. It has been a pleasure to wok with him over the past thirty years.
