We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk Taking has always been something I’ve been super inclined towards. As I was in the last years of my Profesional soccer career I realized I needed a project that I could put my creativity to work in and that’s how Toca Sox was birthed. My whole life was all about soccer I just ended my 8 year soccer pro career and I did everything and took to craziest risk to be able to make my dream come true and I think the root behind all those risk was because I truly believed in myself. When it came to starting a business I had a deep conviction that I could do it and if I went all out for one area of my life I’m going to do it for my brand. Thankfully things have been moving in the direction that I want them to go and Toca Sox is now one of the fastest growing grip sock companies in the USA. If I didn’t take the financial risk and every risk that comes with starting a brand I would of never had this amazing blessing of what Toca Sox is today. You can’t win without risk and I live my life trying to take as many smart calculated risk as possible. I believe self limitations and lack of faith rob us from such beautiful opportunities and I want to live a life full of faith. Creativity and Faith are two of the most important pillars in my life and I’m excited that through my brand I can use my God given gift to create a product that enhances the life of athletes.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My current job is Coaching At a MLS NEXT CLUB called SYC they are a elite soccer club that competes in the top youth level of US Soccer. I work a lot In the younger age groups. I love coaching soccer because after playing soccer professionally for 8-9 years it was time for me to transition into giving back to the game and coaching. One of my goals is to coach soccer at the top Profesional level. I’ve started my education journey to make that dream a reality it’s a very long road but im excited for the challenge and it’s truly something im passionate about! Growing up with Profesional aspirations I learned that hard work and perseverance can take you places you could only imagine in your dreams! My goal is to inject those beliefs and principals into every kid I coach.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely am a huge fan of all the beaches in Miami the tropical modern feeling is something I love. Miami Beach and South Beach are the most fun places to be at in Miami!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Wife Gessi has been one of my biggest supporters in this whole process she’s always believed in me and has invested so much into my brand as well! I would say she has been vital in the success of the brand and has always given such wisdom during the ups and downs of starting something from the ground. She’s so involved in the day to day of my brand and I really appreciate having someone so supportive in my brand journey.
