We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
It was back in 2017 when me and my boy Pablo were watching this video of lil uzi vert going on tour he had said something that stuck with me till this day and honestly it’s something I can’t forget…”I can’t plan stuff that good when you plan something you give yourself higher expectations, I rather just keep it organic. When it’s organic it really make you feel like damn this is my calling” obviously when it comes to things that need to be planned such as events or any type of trips yes but when it comes to being creative I put thought into my ideas on how I want my graphics to come out on my tee’s but when I think of an idea I stick with it because honestly when you tell yourself “this could be better” you start to overthink and not like what you started with when it could be a great idea to begin with. The amount of times I’ve seen other artist overthink their ideas and just trashing it when it was great to begin with is insane but I let them be because that’s how they work and evidently they know what they’re doing but when it comes to me and my ideas when I feel something I feel it heavy and stick with it and honestly it works for me and all I can do is hope that everyone will love my creations.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, to be completely honest I’m excited for my brand not only because SVART is my brand! but I’m also excited because I get to display my art for everyone to see! And I get so hyped just thinking about it because not like most other’s SVART is different in some ways and there’s some brands that have just a cool graphic I have quotes that I would hope it would inspire someone who reads it and wears it. If my clothes can help or inspire someone then my job is done and a percent of the profits would go to organizations that help with mental illness, domestic abuse Etc. But yea honestly I can’t wait, this project for SVART has been in the works since 2015 and there was some challenges that I went through that made me really ask myself what do I want SVART to represent and when we first started the ideas were cool and were rushed and when I came out with the first sample I liked it but I didn’t love it because I was such in a rush to have something out to show people but as I got older my perspective changed from just a cool name and a cool graphic but I wanted something that can inspire the viewers and see positivity and love from all aspects of human life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely since we’re from Miami the first place I would take them is to Flanigan’s because those wings are fire , and then after eating we go to downtown Miami. Downtown Miami is very different from most ports of south Florida architectural wise at least, it’s more of a big city vibe with the tall buildings it gives me New York vibes, there is a lot to do in downtown Miami since everything is in walking distance, bayside is down the street from downtown and it’s an outside malls with a lot of cool bars and live music it really shows you Miami’s vibe.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sheeeeeeeeshh the people I work with deserve every single shout out because how they are in general as a person. first and foremost @Chris.Rhoadz not only is he one of my best friends but as an artist he really is great and I mean that whole heartedly not because he’s a best friend but because he really is different when it comes to his music. When chris found his sound he just elevated to super star status and I can not wait to see him selling out shows and people actually giving the credit he truly deserves. I can not forget the guy who really brought me into creating what svart is today his name is Pablo @venciglobal we use to work together at forever21 back in 2015 we would talk here and there but never hung out but then when I started doing photo shoots he had hit me up to start our brand it was called XMVTIC at first but we changed it later on to SVART not only did did he help me get into having a brand but he helped me with some confidence I was lacking and we’ve been through a lot and I can call this guy my brother. He moved to California to start his own clothing brand and the pieces he makes are on another level you’ll see @fvceclean.studio everywhere and everyone.
