We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Marie Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal Marie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am originally from the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago, I moved to Florida at the age of 10 because my parents divorced. I watched my mother worked three jobs to support her family. My mother always told me I am in control of my future and my choices towards my future begins today. I learned at a very early age the value of commitment and creating the life you want not the life thats given to you. At the age of 12, I made and sold jewelry to family and friends before venturing into wholesale and retail cell phone accessories where at the age of 19 I was running a small business out of a small shop. When I was 24, I decided to go to college to obtain a bachelors of business administration in Marketing. While I was in school I was promoted to an Operations manager of La Fitness in less than a year, from starting as a front desk. In college, I learned the principal of sales and how to create value for customers. I opened my Real Estate brokerage in 2016 after a successful career in Real estate for 5 years. I was ready to build a company where I can really have a greater impact for our clients and real estate agents real estate endeavors and simultaneously serve the needs community. I believe my background has contributed to my ability to follow your dreams regardless of challenges arise and always keep the client needs first to assist their goals.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2011, I and over 100 people were laid off from my corporate job where I was a market analyst/ researcher. My dreams were first shattered, but my entrepreneurial spirit was re-flamed, I want to enter into a career where I had more control of my future, business marketing, and most importantly my financial freedom. When I started Real Estate in 2011, the market was still filled with a ton of distressed homes. I used that as an opportunity to help people get out of a tough situations. By accident I created a niche to set me apart from the other Realtors, I got certified as a Short sale/foreclosure specialist. I worked with investors and a listing Agent for REO properties.
From that point on, as the market got better. I decided to take on business ownership again to create a boutique broker focused on providing real estate agents the support and best technology to dominate their business, what mainly kept me going was helping a client or a Real estate agent achieve their goal. In 2016, when we opened Dominion Realty Group, we had 2 agents and a revenue sales of $3 million to today 2022 we currently have 14 agents with revenue of $15 million and on track to double or revenue by the end of 2022.
We had may challenges particularly when Covid-19 shut down, many of our clients did not want to leave their homes and wanted anyone in their homes. A few of our agents at that time came out of the business. We had to almost rebuild the company once again. We overcame those challenges by investing in technology to support the social distancing and provided more tools and one on one support for our agents. We also hire new agents that believed in our vision for our company.
I want to inspire people to not give up on your dreams, regardless of what the situation looks like challenges will come, but how you handle those challenges is where your growth begins. Without pressure, there’s no progress. Finally, stay focused on one thing and perfect that thing before you go on to another thing.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots to hang out is promenade – Coconut Creek, they have great restaurants, also downtown Fort Lauderdale near Las Ol Las. Finally I love discovering small mom and pop restaurants that have dishes where you can not get anywhere else.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I contribute my success to Jesus Christ, he has been a major factor that has connected myself with many incredible clients and mentors in my life. A special thanks to My mother and Father that has consistently poured so much love, wisdom, and support even when I felt like a did need it. Their work ethic is incredible and I admire and consistently try to uphold. My husband Brandon Moore is my rock and my number supporter, I would not be where I am today without him.
