We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Lowa-McMahel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
My goal as a coach of performing artists is bring people into their full potential, starting from the inside out. Every individual’s identity has been shaped by life’s circumstances. Those who focus on renewing their mind, operating out of a healthy soul, and intimacy with God are those are able to pursue their highest purpose. Personal growth and spiritual growth are key factors in growing into the career of your dreams. When we know “Whose” we are, our identity, then we are fueled with the truth to ignite us on the right path that will have earthly and eternal results and rewards!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I left a teaching career of 11 years as a theatre arts instructor and director to begin pursuing a dream that I had in my heart for many years. I desired to work one-on-one mostly with performers so that I could help them overcome self-doubt, perform with confidence, and land their dream roles. At Creative Truth Alive, I help young and aspiring performers to start their career in performing arts from a position of confidence and strength. I do this through performance coaching that:
- Helps performers discover their unique voice and presence as a performer and how to authentically present yourself to teachers, casting directors, and your audience.
- Develops a focused and tailored strategic path to achieve your performance dreams now.
- Identifies and build plans to overcome skills and competency gaps with professional training in the areas of singing, stage, film, and voice-over acting, movement, and general performing.
This is what sets me apart from other performing arts coaches…
I try to identify any big roadblocks like stage fright or limiting beliefs and help performers develop a specific plan to overcome these obstacles.
I provide tools and habits for performers to build confidence and maintain balanced emotional and spiritual health.
My Brand: CREATIVE TRUTH ALIVE!!
SUCCESS IS NOT MEASURED BY HOW MANY ROLES YOU BOOK OR HOW MUCH MONEY YOU MAKE, BUT….
KNOWING YOUR IDENTITY AND LIVING IN TRUTH KEEPS YOU FULLY ALIVE TO YOUR PURPOSE ON THE PLANET.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown Winter Garden is one of my favorite places on the planet. It is full of quaint restaurants and shops. It is full of familiar faces and families enjoying life.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I shoutout to my parents, my sisters, and my husband, Jim McMahel. My family has always been in support of me. They are loving and encouraging. I had support through my college years, and honestly in every season they have given me words of affirmation that have helped me not to quit. They have prayed for me. My husband has partnered with me in what was a daunting season of beginning as an entrepreneur after being in education full-time for so many years. He has been a rock of support and love when I needed it most.
I shoutout to the pastoral teams from Church in the Son, and Word of Faith Family Church, Nations Church, Jesus Image Church, and United by Grace Ministry for their prayer support and discipleship in my faith over the years. They also encouraged me as a performing artist, writer, and director to glorify God first of all with my gifts and talents. Through all of them I was encouraged to pursue intimacy with my Savior as the foundational of life.
I shoutout to the brilliant and creative people that I also worked with at my former job at Windermere Preparatory School for 11 years. Many of my fellow teachers and bosses have given me opportunities and believed in me as I grew and learned how to be the best Performing Arts Instructor and Theatrical Director that I could possibly be.
