We had the good fortune of connecting with Damarys Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Damarys, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
One of the only good things to come out of the pandemic! I had a bit more time on my hands, and needing a creative outlet, I decided to dive in head-first.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It took me a while to find my niche and maintain a rhythm of posting and engaging. I have a passion for photography, beauty, and fashion so I try to curate all of those aspects in my page. It’s definitely not easy but I love seeing my progress from where I started and I’ve made some amazing friends along the way!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wynwood and Brickell have some of the most eclectic spots ever! I love Chica, Astra, Paperfish, and Pubbelly for food spots. Dancing at Centro or Racket in Wynwood cannot be beat, and the views and shopping in Brickell City Centre are unparalled!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents and sons are my biggest influences and supporters. They help in taking some of my fashion pictures and are there to motivate me along the way. I owe them so much!
