We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Silverman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey started with my first girlfriend cheating on me with my best friend. It was extremely traumatic for me. What helped me recover was obsessively learning about attraction, dating, and relationships. The knowledge I got was therapeutic for me. I started my business to help prevent others from experiencing the same kind of heartbreaks I went through. I love people, I love helping to connect others, and helping people find love.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is unique from other dating coaching and matchmaking companies. I offer a unique service to men, where I take them out into the real world and practice approaching and flirting with women to help them overcome their social anxiety. I also personally go out into the real world at events and scout for my matchmaking clients. It took a very long time to get to where I am now. It’s not easy running your own business alone, but I’ve managed to scratch a living and in the past 2 years I have been very successful at it. I have learned that anyone can attract the person of their dreams as long as they are willing to conquer their fears and put in the effort required to make big changes. I want people to know that despite how horrible it is to date in Miami, there is hope for you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Mangos in Miami Beach for the ultimate tourist experience. The entertainment there is fantastic and so Miami Beach. I would also take them to the local breweries in Wynwood and also the Wynwood Walls to get a feel for the arts district.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Juan Gaitan who initially went into business with me in the beginning and is now with the love of his life. My father Wade Silverman who taught me much about psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy.
