We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniela Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniela, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has been the #1 factor that has bring me to this stage in my business as a content creator. In 2020, when everyone else was losing their jobs I took the risk of resigning to mine to try to make it in my career.
I was super nervous, scared of not being able to make the same amount of money as in my office job but thankfully everything worked out and in the first month I double the income from my 9-5 with just my business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a photographer since I was 16 and Nico became a photographer as well to help me with that business we had. But taking videos and pictures of yourself in public, with a tripod, running back and forth to the camera was and continues to be challenging. We create 95% of our content by ourselves. Sometimes we use a drone. Sometimes we have had to make a 2 hour hike twice to get the perfect shot but at the end is so worth it.
I’ve learned that the only way to be better at your craft and actually achieve success is by making yourself as uncomfortable as you could ever been.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live in Midtown and I think is always amazing to be around here.
I would take them to design district after having breakfast at Pura Vida.
One of my favorite places in Miami is the rooftop Sugar. Also a place they can’t ever miss is Como Como at the Moxy. We would need to party, Miami style at Mayami.
Have wine and charcuterie boards at Lagniappe
Have brunch at Jatto, Planta and Little Hen.
And of course you can’t miss a sunset in Key Biscayne or from the balcony of our home.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think I will always thank my fiance and business partner, Nicola.
He was the one that pushed me to make the most difficult decision and believed in me in every step of the way.
