We had the good fortune of connecting with Dayana Marti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dayana, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Nature and its constant flow. Love as the first source of life. The need to express it, and spread the message, so, that those who know it, remember it, and those who don’t, come to know it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I understand the road as a transit that I live without longing for the goal. I calm down, breathe and I enjoy the journey of creation and expression that heals me. I don’t think in terms of easy or difficult. My challenge is against the very resistances that I must overcome to get to an exhibited work. My own exposure and what I show of myself and deliver in my paintings is my real challenge.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to Dubois park, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Perez artMuseum, Wynwood Walls, Bayside market place, design district, Olympia theater, super blue, Bayfront park, and of course watch a Heat’s game! To eat we would go to aloha catering for a great sushi, consentido Miami and jardines de los sabores for a amazing breakfast, and, Versace mansion.
Which is where the best expression of life is for me. In people and art.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family. I owe them the inspiration and the courage to want to build myself every day. To my daughters, who from the innocence of childhood teach me to approach what is truly important.
