Meet Dina Davis

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dina Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dina, how do you think about risk?
Honestly, risk is where the magic happens. Playing it safe never got anyone anywhere interesting. I think of risk as a necessary ingredient in building something that stands out—especially in the world of marketing. If you’re not pushing boundaries or stepping outside your comfort zone, you’re just blending in.
In my own career, taking risks has been the difference between staying stuck and breaking through. Starting TWONINE was a huge leap of faith. It meant leaving behind the stability of a regular paycheck and betting on my vision and my gut. But that’s where you find out what you’re made of, right? It’s in those moments when you have no guarantees, just an idea you believe in so much that you’re willing to dive headfirst.
The thing about risks is that they don’t always pay off immediately—or even at all. I’ve had my fair share of failures. But every setback taught me something, sharpened my instincts, and made me bolder the next time around. The way I see it, if you’re not risking something, you’re not aiming high enough. At TWONINE, we embrace that energy—whether it’s trying a bold new strategy for a client or going against the grain in how we present ourselves. It’s about challenging the status quo and knowing that the biggest rewards don’t come from playing it safe.
In the end, the role of risk in my life is simple: it’s the price of admission to a life that’s actually worth living.

What should our readers know about your business?
TWONINE MARKETING is all about making noise in a world that’s too used to playing it safe. What sets us apart? We don’t do cookie-cutter strategies or fluff. We focus on bold, high-ROI campaigns that transform brands into digital rockstars. The heart of TWONINE is about bringing a bit of edge into everything we do—whether it’s helping a brand break through the noise on social media, crafting content that makes people stop mid-scroll, or working closely with clients to build strategies that make sense for their unique goals.
What I’m most proud of is our ability to turn ideas into impact. We started out with a focus on social media management, video production, and strategic digital marketing, but it quickly evolved into something bigger. We’re not afraid to go against the grain if it means achieving results. And that’s something our clients have come to appreciate—because it’s never about just following trends; it’s about setting them.
How Did I Get Here? Getting here wasn’t easy—there’s no sugarcoating that. Starting TWONINE meant taking a lot of risks and leaving behind the comfort of a steady paycheck. There were days when I had to play all the roles—strategist, content creator, client relations, you name it. And I faced plenty of challenges, from landing those first few clients to proving that TWONINE could deliver results that matter.
The legal community played a huge role in our growth. It gave me opportunities to prove that TWONINE could handle the high-stakes world of marketing for law firms, conferences, and events. It’s how we got our footing, but we’ve expanded far beyond that, helping all sorts of brands—from scrappy startups to more established names—find their digital voice.
Challenges & Lessons Learned Was it a smooth ride? Not at all. But the hard days taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of thinking differently. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that being true to your vision is more important than trying to be everything to everyone. It’s better to attract the right clients who understand and value your approach than to try to please everyone.
I’ve also learned the importance of adapting quickly. Social media trends shift, platforms evolve, and client needs change—so we’re always staying on top of what’s new. That’s part of what makes TWONINE successful: we don’t just follow trends; we adapt, innovate, and create new ways to engage audiences.
What I Want the World to Know TWONINE MARKETING isn’t just another agency; it’s a mindset. We’re about pushing boundaries, rejecting the ordinary, and helping brands become unapologetically themselves. Our story is about embracing challenges, learning as we go, and knowing that the best rewards come from taking risks. So, if you’re looking for a team that’s not afraid to challenge the status quo and make your brand unforgettable, that’s where we come in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to town for a week, we’d go all out—no boring tourist stuff, just the real gems. First off, we’d have to start in Wynwood. It’s like an open-air art gallery with murals that’ll make your Instagram pop. We’d hit Panther Coffee for some serious caffeine (trust me, it’s not just coffee, it’s an experience) and wander through the galleries. And, because I’m all about balance, we’d end the night with some cocktails at Broken Shaker in Miami Beach—think of it as a backyard party with the best drinks in town.
We’d absolutely need a beach day, but I’d skip the tourist-packed South Beach. Instead, I’d take them to North Beach Oceanside Park. It’s quieter, more local, and perfect for an easygoing morning. Oh, and we’d grab sandwiches from La Sandwicherie—because there’s just something about eating a giant, delicious French sandwich while you watch the waves roll in.
If they’re up for a day trip, we’d head down to the Keys. It’s only about an hour and a half to Key Largo. We could check out the glass-bottom boat tours at John Pennekamp Park (it’s like snorkeling but without getting wet—perfect lazy day move). And on the way back, we’d hit Robbie’s Marina in Islamorada to feed the tarpon. It’s kind of wild having those giant fish jumping out of the water just inches from your hand.
Back in Miami, Little Havana is a must. We’d hit up Versailles for the most authentic Cuban sandwich and cafecito around, and then wander Calle Ocho to soak in some live music at Ball & Chain. Plus, watching the older folks play dominoes at Domino Park is honestly way more entertaining than it should be.
We’d need some chill time too, so maybe a spa day at The Standard Spa in Miami Beach—because, after all that running around, who wouldn’t want to unwind in their steam room overlooking Biscayne Bay? Afterward, a lazy lunch at Lido Bayside Grill is a no-brainer.
And for a little nature and adventure, we’d take an airboat ride in the Everglades—because where else do you get to see alligators up close like that? And on the way back, we’d definitely stop for some barbecue at Shivers in Homestead. Messy, delicious, and absolutely worth it.
To wrap up the week, we’d head north to Fort Lauderdale. I’d show them around Las Olas Boulevard, take a Water Taxi ride, and grab lunch at 15th Street Fisheries (the fish feeding is such a fun bonus). It’s the kind of week that hits all the best South Florida vibes—art, nature, food, and just the right amount of beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, my path hasn’t been filled with a lot of hand-holding or endless support, but that’s what made the small circle that’s been there even more special. First off, a massive shoutout to my cousin, Stephanie Brown. She’s been my sounding board, and a constant reminder that I’m not in this alone—whether it’s moral support or just showing up when life gets rough.
Business-wise, I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made in the legal community. My old boss, Alex Valencia, is someone I owe a ton of credit to. He taught me the ropes in a way that went beyond business—it was about resilience, strategy, and knowing when to break the rules. And of course, I wouldn’t be here without those first few believers in TWONINE MARKETING: Bill Biggs, John Ray, Bill Umansky, Laura Zuckerman, and Alex Ducenord. They gave me a chance when TWONINE was just a vision, and I’ll never forget that.
And I have to give a nod to all the self-growth and personal development books I’ve devoured over the years. If it’s about grit, mindset, or challenging the status quo, I’ve probably read it. These motivators helped me see that every setback is just a setup for something bigger. To anyone who’s given me a shot, listened to me vent, or shared a word of wisdom—you know who you are—thank you.
